Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
What Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of data when You use the Service:
- Account and contact information. Your name, email address, profile picture, and, where applicable, Your phone number. When You sign in with a Third-party Social Media Service, We receive a unique identifier for Your account with that provider (for example, Your Google or Apple subject identifier).
- Content You provide to the assistant. The messages You type, the files, images, and documents You attach or create, and the prompts, actions, scheduled jobs, and memory facts You configure. In voice mode We process Your voice recordings and the transcripts generated from them.
- Device data You grant the app permission to access. On mobile, and only after You grant the relevant operating-system permission, We access Your contacts, photos and photo thumbnails, camera, microphone, and approximate or precise location so the assistant can act on them. We also collect a push-notification device token so We can deliver notifications You ask for.
- Communications data. If You use the phone or SMS features, We process the phone numbers, call audio, transcripts, and message content involved in those interactions.
- Billing data. Your subscription plan, billing history, and a customer identifier issued by our payment processor. We do not store or collect Your full payment-card details.
- Usage and diagnostic data. Your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser and operating-system type and version, device identifiers, the pages and features You use, the time and date of Your activity, and crash and error diagnostics.
How We Collect Your Data
- Directly from You when You create an account, sign in, configure settings, or interact with the assistant by typing, speaking, or uploading files.
- Automatically from Your device and browser as You use the Service, including Usage Data and the cookies described below.
- From Your device, with Your permission, when You grant the app access to features such as Your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or location. You can review or revoke these permissions at any time in Your device settings.
- From Third-party Social Media Services when You choose to sign in with, or connect, a provider such as Google, Apple, GitHub, or Telegram.
Tracking Technologies and Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep You signed in and to understand how the Service is used. We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management, and We use Google Analytics on our public website to measure aggregate traffic. We do not use advertising or cross-site retargeting cookies, and We do not sell Your data to advertisers. You can instruct Your browser to refuse cookies, but some parts of the Service may not function without them.
Use of Your Personal Data
The Company uses personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Service, including generating the assistant's responses. The messages, files, images, and voice You send are routed to third-party artificial-intelligence providers solely to produce a response to Your request.
- To power the features You ask for, such as searching and summarizing Your photos, looking up Your contacts, making or screening phone calls, sending SMS messages, running scheduled jobs, and remembering facts You tell the assistant.
- To manage Your Account and Your registration as a user of the Service.
- To process payments and manage Your subscription and billing.
- To contact You by email, push notification, SMS, or telephone about updates, security notices, and information related to the features and services You use.
- To maintain security and prevent abuse, including diagnosing errors, detecting fraud, and protecting the Service and its users.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
Sharing Your Personal Data and Third-Party Providers
We share Your data only with the service providers that help us operate the Service, and only to the extent needed to perform their function. These providers act as our data processors: they may use Your data only to perform services for Us, and they may not use it for their own purposes, sell it, or use it to train their own models on Your behalf. The providers We rely on are:
- Artificial-intelligence model providers — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, and Mistral, accessed directly and through Vercel. Depending on the model You select, We send Your messages, attached files and images, and voice transcripts to one of these providers to generate a response.
- Voice providers — OpenAI for speech recognition and speech generation during voice mode.
- Payment processing — Stripe. We do not store Your payment-card details; they are provided directly to Stripe, whose handling of that information is governed by its own privacy policy and the PCI-DSS standard.
- Telephony and messaging — Telnyx and Twilio, which carry the phone calls and SMS messages You make or receive through the Service.
- Cloud infrastructure — Amazon Web Services, which hosts our application and stores files and other content, encrypted at rest using AWS Key Management Service.
- Secure code execution — E2B, which provides the isolated sandboxes the assistant uses to run code on Your behalf.
- Diagnostics and crash reporting — Sentry, which helps us detect and fix errors.
- Email — MailerLite, which We use to send account and product email. We share only Your email address and plan status.
- Sign-in providers — Google, Apple, GitHub, and Telegram, when You choose to sign in with or connect them.
- Analytics — Google Analytics, on our public website only, to measure aggregate traffic.
Equal protection of Your data. We confirm that every third party with whom We share Your data is contractually bound to provide the same or equal protection of Your data as set out in this Privacy Policy, and that is consistent with applicable law and with the platform requirements under which our apps are distributed, including the Apple App Store Review Guidelines. We share data only with providers that offer these protections, and only for the limited purposes described above.
We may also disclose Your personal data in the following situations:
- Business transfers. If We are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, Your personal data may be transferred. We will give notice before Your personal data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- Law enforcement and legal requirements. We may disclose Your personal data if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect and defend the rights or property of the Company, prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing, protect the personal safety of users or the public, or protect against legal liability.
Retention of Your Personal Data
We retain Your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When You delete content or Your account, We delete or de-identify the associated personal data, except where We are required to retain it by law.
Transfer of Your Personal Data
Your information, including personal data, is processed at the Company's operating locations in the United States and in any other place where the service providers involved in the processing are located. This information may be transferred to, and maintained on, computers located outside of Your state, province, or country, where data-protection laws may differ from those in Your jurisdiction. We take reasonable steps to ensure Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy wherever it is processed.
Security of Your Personal Data
The security of Your personal data is important to Us. We encrypt data in transit using TLS and at rest, restrict access to authorized personnel and systems, and apply additional application-layer encryption to secrets and credentials such as access tokens and API keys. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and We cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where You live, You may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete Your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Residents of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under the GDPR, and California residents have comparable rights under the CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. To exercise any of these rights, or to delete Your account and associated data, contact us using the details below or use the account-deletion option within the app. We do not sell Your personal data.
Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under the age of 13, and We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If You become aware that a child has provided Us with personal data, please contact Us, and We will take steps to delete it.
Information Collected While Using Apple and Google APIs
Sidekick Pro's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information received through Apple services is used only to provide and improve the Service in accordance with Apple's developer requirements.
